On the occasion of the newly revamped Heinz-Steyer-Stadion’s grand opening on 31st August 2024, the OSTRA Labor officially welcomed Dresden’s citizens, offering an exciting new space dedicated to the future of mobility. As part of the MOBILITIES FOR EU project, OSTRA Labor will serve as a public-facing showcase and interactive hub where citizens can engage directly with cutting-edge mobility solutions. The laboratory is set to become a vital space for exchange, learning, and co-creation, allowing the public to actively participate in shaping Dresden’s mobility landscape.

The Ostragehege district, where the lab is located, will soon be home to a range of innovative mobility measures, including autonomous loading and transport robots, as well as bidirectional charging technologies. The opening day featured a diverse range of activities, such as information booths, an interactive electric vehicle simulation developed by Technische Universität Dresden, and a mobility behavior survey to collect feedback from residents. With a special play area for children and plenty of opportunities for citizens to engage with experts, the event created a lively atmosphere of curiosity and collaboration. The OSTRA Labor is poised to become a cornerstone for the city’s innovative efforts, bringing cutting-edge solutions to life in the heart of Dresden.
