On Saturday, March 29, 2025, the City of Dresden celebrated a major milestone: the grand opening of the Stadtforum Dresden! After three years of construction, the event welcomed around 12,000 curious visitors who explored the new, modern workspaces and public areas, such as the impressive Agora. At the same time, they had the opportunity to learn more about the diverse tasks and projects of Dresden’s city administration.
MOBILITIES FOR EU was proud to be part of this special day, using the event as a platform to connect directly with citizens and discuss the future of urban mobility. One of the key highlights was the presentation of the project’s innovative technical demonstrator for bidirectional charging. Originally developed for the City of Dresden within the DYMOBAT project, this solution is now being transformed in MOBILITIES FOR EU into the interactive e-City educational game.
With great support from Dresden Tomorrow’s Home and the Deutsche Telekom Chair of Communication Networks (ComNets), the demonstrator sparked engaging conversations with visitors of all ages. The goal: making complex technologies like bidirectional charging and V2X communication accessible and fun for everyone — no expert knowledge required!
Visitors got a sneak peek of what’s to come: the e-City game will be officially showcased in May 2025 at the IEEE 6G Summit in Dresden. This new demonstrator builds on the award-winning prototype that received the Best Exhibition Award 2024 for its Relevance and Interaction with Society. While the first version was designed for an academic audience, the new e-City game invites everyone to explore the future of sustainable mobility in a playful and intuitive way.
