The MOBILITIES FOR EU consortium has published a new deliverable setting out how the project will systematically track the performance of its mobility and energy pilots in Madrid and Dresden.
Led by MOBILITIES FOR EU Partner CARNET, the report defines a harmonised monitoring approach across 27 pilot measures, covering environmental, energy, transport, social and economic impacts. It translates the project’s evaluation framework into a practical system: specifying which data is collected, by whom, how often, and through which tools.
A key element is the integration of multiple data streams. Sensor data, operational logs and digital platforms developed by SAP and T‑Systems are combined with user and stakeholder feedback gathered through Urban Transport Labs. This allows the project to assess not only technical performance—such as emissions, energy use or system efficiency—but also social acceptance and operational viability.
The framework is aligned with NetZeroCities, CIVITAS and SUMI indicators, ensuring that results are comparable beyond the project and can feed into city-level climate monitoring and EU reporting.
Beyond the two lead cities, this framework is designed as a reference model. The monitoring structure, KPIs and data processes can be adopted by the project’s replication cities and by other European municipalities working on climate-neutral mobility.
