20 October 2025
The Mercamadrid10K celebrated its 8th edition on 19 October, gathering 2,000 runners and donating 20,000 kilograms of fresh food to the Madrid Food Bank Foundation. Under the motto “Vive la experiencia en un espacio único” (“Live the experience in a unique space”), the event transformed Europe’s largest fresh food platform into a vibrant festival of sport, health, and solidarity, welcoming thousands of visitors and families.
Amidst the family-friendly activities, tastings, and workshops, the MOBILITIES FOR EU team organised an interactive stand to showcase the project’s work on sustainable urban mobility and logistics innovation within Mercamadrid, one of its flagship Urban Mobility Labs.
At the stand, visitors could explore a range of informative and engaging materials, including:
The Mercamadrid Urban Mobility Lab is demonstrating how digital twins, data analytics, and new routing concepts can help optimise logistics flows and reduce emissions. The site also serves as a testbed for electric and low-emission vehicles and smart infrastructure that supports charging and logistics optimisation.
By combining advanced technology, local engagement, and real-world demonstrations, MOBILITIES FOR EU aims to make Mercamadrid a model for sustainable logistics hubs across Europe — supporting Madrid’s broader journey towards climate-neutral urban mobility.
The Mercamadrid10K offered the perfect backdrop to bring these innovations closer to citizens, connecting the project’s vision for cleaner, smarter mobility with a day devoted to health, community, and social responsibility.
