On June 11th, the Olivia Centre in Gdańsk came alive with energy and ideas as the MOBILITIES FOR EU project hosted its Open Day event. Held during the project’s 4th General Assembly within the framework of the Urban Mobility Lab, the event brought together partners from across Europe, not just to talk about mobility, but to meet and exchange directly with the people it impacts most: its citizens.

Over 20 visitors were immersed in the world of future urban mobility during the Open Day. Participants met the teams working across six different areas: Innovative Solutions for mobility, Sustainable Mobility, Digital Solutions, Pilots Implementation and Planning, Replication in other cities and Working Together with Municipalities, Citizens & Stakeholders. This allowed them to dive into the different activities of the project covering everything from digital solutions and technical implementation in pilots to sustainable transport innovations and local stakeholder collaboration.

An interactive touchable screen showcasing the cities involved in the project welcomed participants at the entrance. Attendees were able to explore each city’s unique mobility challenges, goals, and the solutions currently being tested, all at their own pace.

We also presented another interactive tool at the event: the E-City game (developed in a partnership between TU Dresden and We Right Click, both partners of the project). It is an educational game that introduced participants to energy districts and bidirectional charging technology in a fun way. It sparked plenty of curiosity and conversations about how small changes can lead to more sustainable lifestyles.

The event co-organised by the city of Gdansk and We Right Click presented an opportunity to exchange with local citizens on the mobility challenges of the city and its potential solutions, gathering valuable feedback on current and future mobility initiatives.
