10 October 2025
From September 30 to October 2, 2025, the Smart City team from our Lead City Dresden showcased their work at the Smart Country Convention in Berlin, where over 18,000 experts from administration, business, politics, and research gathered to promote digitalisation, innovation, and transformation of public spaces. Dresden, selected by the German government as a model smart city, presented future-oriented digital solutions for sustainable and connected urban development.
As part of this presence, on October 1 our partners from Dresden gave a keynote on the project, which will be demonstrating smart, sustainable mobility solutions on Dresden’s Ostrainsel – a dynamic urban testbed.
They showcased pilot projects including autonomous charging robots, bidirectional charging with energy management, 5G campus networks, automated driving infrastructure, and a digital data platform.
The keynote also highlighted real-world challenges – legal, financial, technical, and organisational – encountered during implementation, and how Dresden is addressing them with their partners and city administration.
Thanks to everyone involved – let’s keep driving urban mobility forward!
